I have the Gen 2 xB and took it in for an oil change at my dealer last week, they over flled the engine with oil.  After talking with them I found out that the service tech/manager didn't know that the new xB only has one engine available and not 2 engines options that they thought.  They said that they used the Gen 1 spec's and that is why I had too much oil. I don't believe a word they said, so, I would like to know how many qts of oil the first Gen. xB requires with the filter change included.

Thanks.

Sorry, I can't answer the question....but, you might need to find a new service department!
Also, you might want to check and see if the technician that did the oil change also "cut off" the under engine panel that protects the filter from road damage...this has been a common problem mentioned in previous treads. (My dealer had to replace the panel cut by their service tech during an oil change.)

Brewski.   I have heard that story  before, so I went down to my garage and checked, they didn't cutoff anything.

Thanks

You're welcome.  I keep my owner's manual in my desk, so it's right here.
