They offered that accessory at my dealership but my wife made me get the floor mats instead.  Cry

Yep.
First Scion.

In fact, first new car.

My previous main cars:
1985 Audi 5000
1987 Volkswagen Vanagon, Wolfsburg Edition (drove for 7 years)
1990 Mazda Miata (have had for 10 years)

Also drove (As I have multiple kids, i needed something for me with more than 2 seats):
1995 Chrysler Cirrus (wife's "college car")
1996 Ford Crown Vic, for 6 months-> was wife's grandfather's car.

The Crown Vic died (water pump bearing failure and quick overheat/warped head), so I looked for a FUN and PRACTICAL 4-seater.
I fell for the Scion xB.

In fact, "Xpress Box" (my silver 09) reminds me a HECK of a lot like the VW 80s Bus, only with power, braking, and not sitting in the nose itself.  It has that "fun to drive" element that the Cirrus and CV lacked.

When not able to drive the Miata (too many people or intense heat outdoors), I PREFER the xB over ANYTHING else I've driven.

2nd Scion.  Had an 06 prior to my 09.  Some clown in a Dodge Ram 1500 truck 'rammed' me from behind, doing like 40MPH + and totaled the 06.  I like the xB2 a lot, so far...

My '08 xB is my first Scion, but not my first Toyota.  The quality equals that of the other Toyota vehicles I've owned ('01 Tacoma TRD and '05 Camry SE), but I shouldn't be surprised.  I am really enjoying driving around in this car.  I am so happy I chose it over the other vehicles I was looking at to buy.   yes

Just curious... what other vehicles were you looking at?  I considered others too, before falling in luv with the xB.  I considered Pontiac Vibe / Toyota Matrix, Dodge Caliber, and Jeep Compass.  IMHO, xB beats 'em all hands down.  They all start at around the same price point, but xB comes standard with features that are options/trim levels on the other vehicles.  Tack on those options, and the other vehicles start floating above $20K.  I am quite happy with my $17K stock xB.  Only accessory I purchased (so far) is floor mats, but I am thinking about adding the overhead console...

I looked at the Honda Fit, Dodge Caliper, Nissan Versa, and the Ford Focus

Welcome to NSxB!
You didn't have to wreck the Mustang in order to get a new xB.  Talk about drastic!  rofl

This is my first. I needed to get rid of an 06 Sequoia because it was having an affair with the gas pump. So I was set to buy a RAV4 but as luck would have it the RAV4 I was looking at was on a test drive so I walked the lot and spotted this baby in the used lot with only 3680 miles. The dealer had tagged its as a rental so they had to sell it as used. Got it with Spoiler, Premium Stereo and Floor Mats for $900 off MSRP, and the even gave me a decent trade on the Sequoia. I'd never even seen an 08 xB until Wed and by the weekend it was mine...I'm obsessed  yes. Wheels get put on Thursday.
