Ordering my first Scion (xB2 in BSP) at the dealer tomorrow. I wanted a compact hatch/wagon and had considered the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix, Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass but once I found the xB I haven't looked back. All those other cars start at (or above) the same price point but have none of the options that xB has standard.
And once I actually sat in and drove one, I was stunned at how incredibly roomy the thing is. I'm 6'2 and even with the drivers seat pushed all the way back, I can get in and sit comfortably in the back seat (not that I'll be spending much time there).
Simplicity of business model, simplicity of pricing, incredible value and one damn cool-looking car added up to a no-brainer for me.
Have been saving my money and obsessing for months and now the time has finally come.

Thanks Shancopp, I am excited too but slightly disappointed that there isn't a vehicle matching my desires (Base Black Sand Pearl manual, only accessory is floor/cargo mats) within a 100-mile radius (WTF?). My dealer said they could get one in, but it would be a week or so and the car would have to be driven in (putting over 100 miles on the odo before I even get to see it).
I could have taken a brand-new xB in Blackberry Crush off the lot with only 2 miles on the odo, and I really waffled for a good half hour or so (the dealer even took it outside so I could see it in the sun) but I'm just not wild about the color - with just a little dirt and in cloudy conditions, the BCM looks muddy brown to my eye.
Anyway, my dealer felt confident he could get my BSP manual in within a week, so I am happy, just a wee bit impatient and disappointed at the highway miles that will be put on my ride...

You know what. Once you drive it and own it for a few weeks you'll forget all about this. You will love it so much you'll just be gald that you bought it and waited to get what you wanted.
