When you're shipping with DHL, especially when selling used things, insure for the full retail value.
Then if it does get lost, you can get your money.
Of course it's something that you wish wouldn't happen but in case it happens, which it does, you are covered.
I think last year and a half, I've actually made money (a little over $1,000) from DHL losing my shipment.
When shipping with some carriers, insurance does seem like a waste of money but with DHL, it's always a good idea to over-insure.

Wheels arrived. Each wheel in its own box and absolutely no packing material to protect them. None. They're all scratched, one is gouged. Two of the boxes had broken wide open. With no inside packing material to keep the sides of the boxes from collapsing the boxes were just crushed from the normal wear and tear of shipping.

I'm sorry you got such a rotten deal from ScionScene. That was some straight BS he pulled on you.
Hopefully karma will repay him in kind. Even though it does nothing to rectify his wrongdoing, I'd suggest that you and everyone here who agrees that he's a liar and a shady business person, hit that smite button. At least if he has a negative rating here, it would make it hard to sell his warez on this site. Heck, the admin(s) on this site should put him on probation for his poor business practices. Doubt that will happen though...

Fly, did you get pix? You should take pix of the packaging or lack thereof and of the gouges. If so, post them up if you will.
Glad they made it anyhow.

I totally AGREE! What a JERK SCIONSCENE is! Back to my previous post, I'd SLAM his reputation and shady business practice on all sites available, hell, I'd even show up at his shows and let people know what he's done! But, I'm sure he'll put the BLAME on one of his FRIENDS for not packaging the wheels properly or the shipping company.... Unreal how slimmy people are these days!

The best thing at this point flyviper to file a claim with DHL to get your money back and see if they will help you out. If they don't then it's time to start rapping on Scion Scene's door again.

The shipping company should not be responsible for the wheels, it's the fault of the person who packaged the DAMAGED wheels and shipped them... which falls back to Scionscene- PHIL WONG! Now, if the wheels were PACKAGED CORRECTLY and were not DAMAGED before shipment, then flyviper would have a valid complaint against the shipping company. I think there are some on this site still SUPPORTING PHIL WONG for his wrong doing from the get go! You all need to WAKE up and smell the coffee!
Bottom line is PHIL WONG- Scionscene RIPPED off flyviper and after this post started he has NOT MANNED UP to take responsibility and when he was pressured to send the wheels out or give a refund, he elected to send out DAMAGED wheels.

If the wheels were not packaged properly then Flyviper should get a full refund since he had nothing to do with packing the wheels. What about the trouble Flyviper has gone through and the money he is out! I wouldn't hold your breath about receiving a refund or even a email from the seller.
Please post some picture for us to see or I am sure someone will come to SS defense claiming DHL should have been more careful, defective cardboard, high price of gasoline or some kind of excuse.
Post pics and give credit where credit is due!

Scion and others -- I'm pretty much done with all of this. The wheels were not only scratched but the clear coat is "cracked" on all the wheels and I've taken them to get them striped and re-clearcoated. This is costing $125 per wheel. Phil Wong got me and that's that. All the rest of you can do is stay far away from him.
As a side note, Phil claims he does tons of business on the internet and it makes you wonder why he would send something with no packing ?? Maybe that wasn't an oversite. Congrats Phil you got me !

I actually looked at these rims in person before you bought them. I offered a super low price because they were very dirty and some things with the sale made me uneasy. It may have been my spidey sense, but it just felt weird. At any rate, at least you finally got something and your story has been well told here and on other forums...

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread... all that needs to be said has been said and ScionScene will no longer be a sponsor here.
