Hey Aljay   keep in mind that the digital readout is off a little, try doing your next couple of tanks by hand. You are probably getting better.

Update- 25-30 mpg at 4500 miles with 2008 auto in mixed driving.  Computer reads 29.7, but that seems optimistic.

yeah, the mileage calculators tend to be a little high - mine reads 1.7 mpg higher than actual mpg...

Did Tylers65 ever get over 30 mpg on a full tank? He was used to squeezing out high mileage with a Prius. I assume his XB was a manual.

As I posted before I am still getting 30 or better.  I got 31.4 this past week.  Its all in the way you drive.  It has kind of turned into a hobby for me to see how good I can get.  The computer usually reads 1-1.5mpg's better than what I actually get.  I think this tank I may "blow it out" a little. Cheesy  It might have a little carbon build up I need to get rid of.

My driving is about 70%hwy and 30 city.  The hwy speed limit is 55 and I usually drive around 58.

I have 11K on my xB and during my commute to work [which consist of 12 miles of light traffic (through multiple stop signs and 18 stoplights) and 9 miles of highway @ 65mph] I always manage to get ~33mpg.  Last month I set a goal to maximize my mpg as much as possible and raised my average to 35.5mpg during 3 tanks.  All my calculation have been miles traveled/gallons used, as I've found that my trip computer is always ~5% optomistic.  I've taken several hwy trips as well and got ~32 mpg going with the flow of interstate traffic 65-80mph.  I'm running on regular dino oil and have tires set to 36 front, 33 rear.  Next oil change will be sythetic, so we'll see if it makes any difference.

I got 23 the first couple of tanks but the last tank was 25.6. Automatic with 55% hwy. I try not to go over 67 on the hwy to work to keep the RPM's down.
