I just checked this morning and noticed that the cover for the side marker (I am not 100% sure that this is what they are called but I'm talking about the ones that are on the side view mirror) are clear.

I don't really like that amber color.

Has anybody replaced those lights?

Pictures? Do they simply require just replacement of the bulbs? How is it done?

Its on here somewhere. Not sure where. All I know is that you have to pop the mirror off so you can pop the lenses off. After that I am not sure if its a bulb of if you have to do some soldering.

The lights on the mirrors are LED's.

It will require soldering...

Doesn't look that hard.  I'm going to do it when I find some really bright amber replacement LEDs.

You might want to be careful about changing the turn signal indicator colors. The color of those lights is sometimes determined by state or federal law and can be a violation if changed. I haven't checked into it and don't know any specifics, so I could be completely wrong. So don't flame me. I'm just bringing it up as something to investigate. Anybody know for sure?

I'm sure that they're not legal.
Everything's illegal especially here in CA.

I think it's the same with smoked head/tail lights.
HID conversion kits are also not approved for street use.
(By the way, I received my 6000k from MobileHID on Saturday. Arrived in 1 day... Thanks Cliff.)

But I think there is an imaginary line that cops use to determine whether he/she'll pull you over or not.
Also, it all depends on how the officer is feeling that day.

I've been pulled over one time for having my parking pass hung on my rear view mirror.
At the same time, he ticketed me for tinted windows (damn my front windows were not even tinted that dark. They were tinted very lightly because my mom used to drive my car every now and then and her skin was very sensitive to the sun so I had to get them done.)
I could totally tell he was having a ####ty day.

I think as long as they're not blue or red, you're okay. White or amber should be acceptable... but check local laws to be sure, if you're worried...
