Hi, i just got my 2010 xB and the dealer wanted close to 500 bucks to install the RS3200 plus security system, toyota part #PT398-52081. I found the exact system online from another Toyota/Scion dealer for less than half the cost so I ordered it .
Does anyone have this system? Anyone install it themselves? I understand its basically plug and play which is much easier from systems I installed in the past where you had to cut and splice. If anyone has this unit or has installed it, please let me know if you have any tips, tricks, hints or suggestions.   Thanx

Here is a link to the model I ordered. http://www.trdsparks.com/displayparts.php?Mdl_dtl=570&Part_cat=25&parts_id=1541.  I cant say yet if its the correct version. Ill be installing Saturday if the weather is nice here in NJ. Goodluck!

It's amazing what the dealer charges for this! I got mine from eBay for $150 and installed it myself. The instructions are included and can be viewed here: http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PT398-52081inst.pdf.

It is as easy as it is going to get. If you can install a stereo, you can install this. Save yourself some money.

I'm waiting on mine to be shipped. The instructions say something but the v4 harness vs the v5 harness. Does anyone know what harness the 2010 xb came with?

The V4 accessory is Remote Start.  The V5 accessory is Scion Security (RS3200+).  Each has its own harness.

Not to burst your bubble but your better off getting an aftermarket alarm.

I installed a Scion Security system in my xB2 and it works fine.  Expect to lose some blood from finger cuts while working among the behind dash support members, but they heal Smiley!  I got my kit from Sparks also Smiley!

HaHa. You're exactly right Trevor. I sliced my fingers also while I was working behind the dash installing that alarm...almost as bad as a paper cut...

If you're interested, you can extend that alarm if you want.  I just added a Hood-Open pin switch to mine.
