This is supposed to fix that:
http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/firewire-to-usb-converter
(Found on an Audi forum I randomly stumbled onto.)

As I am getting a new IPod soon, I'll likely have the same problem.  The old one (bought from a member of this forum) pretty much is ONLY used in the xB, so it MUST be rechargeable in there to do me any good.

If someone buy the above linked product, let is know how it works.

That ones looks great, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post another one. Smiley I just happened to remember seeing this one here one day: http://www.optomizescion.com/ProductsDetail.aspx?ProdID=2955

I have the Scosche passPORT and used it in my old car.  It was the first thing I transferred into the new Xb when I bought it.  Curiously, however, I have had no need for it since my iPod Touch DOES charge just find in the Xb - BUT I have a 2010 with the newer headunit, so perhaps Scion switched things around in the current model.

But if you do need the Scosche, it does just what it says.

I have the schosche, and it solves the issue.
I thought that my car was broken until I found that they changed the way the 2g iPod touch charges.

Had the same problem on my Bose sound dock, but schosche also makes an adapter for that. Spent $100 just to get the charging issues fixed for my iPod... apple strikes again.
