My new scion xb says that it is satellite radio ready (on the standard sound system).  Does that mean I can just purchase a satellite plan or do I need more equipment?

You need to buy a Sirius or XM unit, plug it into the port in the front of the center console and the 12V outlet then run it via the Aux setting on the audio system.

I don't believe thats what sateilite ready means. You still have to buy the xm or sirus antenna/reciver and have it installed. After that you just need a subscription.

i installed a SIRIUS in-dash reciever and antenna for way cheaper than a dealer could... i can answer any questions you might have about it!
