I have a 08 scion xb, got a pair of scion fog lights with the dash  switch as a gift.  i'd like to get them installed.  What do you think is a fair price I should pay to have them installed?

If possible for you it is a straight forward DIY....

I did mine...taking the front facia off is the easy part...cutting the lower grille was somewhat of a challenge....all the wiring is in place...snapping in the switch is simple....as is putting it all back together...did mine with no help...

But, I have no idea of the cost of having someone do it for you.
If the dealer does it it shouldn't take over an hour...it took me perhaps an hour and a half...but, then again I'm 68 years old and a slow reader.

I think what you meant to say is that you are cautious and methodical based on years of experience.  Cheesy

Hey rlc, where are you located?  Maybe there is a nearby Scion fanatic that would help you with the installation. Failing that, it's probably better to get some quotes from local shops. Prices can vary quite a bit from one place to another, so what I might have to pay may have no bearing on your cost.

It isn't that difficult, just have to be careful with the front bumper so not to scratch it. I did my foglights and took me about 2 hours.

I changed out mine last night, It took me about 3 hours I also added billet grill’s upper and lower at the same time. Just make sure you have a good blanket to set the front end on and take your time.
