400, wow. I was thinking of picking up a windshield brush (like they have in gas stations) for the summer season. Its not even bug season around here.
Remember that Yankees v. Cleveland Indians baseball playoff game last year with all those bugs? That is our bug season around great lakes. It is not uncommon for mayflies to swarm carlights such that you have to pull off the road.

I'm about to head on a little over a 2 hour drive to Hot Import Nights just outside DC. I'll count all the spatters and post my killcount when I get back

and what's the last thing that goes through the bug's mind before he hits the windshield? ? "Oooh fuuudge!" >> [narrating] Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word... Our favorite holiday movie! A classic!!

Actually what I usually do is clean the window good, use rain-x and then put rain-x in my washer bottle. That doesn't stop the bugs but it makes them wipe off easy.

Its like wax for your windshield. So bug guts don't stick. Plus the rain-x windshield fluid actually has a chemical in it that breaks up the bug guts even more to help them come off.

Sorry, no body count from heading down to HIN. Sure did hear a LOT of splats though. I washed my car when I got there, and it rained the entire trip back. I'll tell ya though, I bought some two dollar little bug-gut and bird-crap remover sponge from wal-mart last week, and it worked like a champ!

Bugs haven't been that horrible but I did discover that an armadillo darting across the road at night will not...repeat not fit underneath my XB. May he rest in peace.

My gosh, if I saw freekin armadillos anywhere but the zoo, I think I'd die! The other nite, at dusk, it sounded like rain the bugs where hitting my windshield so fast and hard! Of course, I had just washed it that afternoon too!

BUGS!
This one one facet of the xB that reminds me of my 87 VW Bus! When driving on a warm summer night . . . It sounds like it is RAINING because of all the bug hits on the front. Also, I remember the old "tin roof" when it is raining! Fond memories get to LIVE AGAIN! YEAH!
Heah, I forgot:
I got some glass cleaner wipes for my Miata a while back (to clean the inside and outside of the windshield). They work GREAT on the bugs! I now keep a "can" of it in the front passenger door "bottle holder."
