Well, I am no experts on this kind of electronic hook up, so I went to an after market shop and they charge $50 an hour. So the whole job took couple of hours. If the dealer willing to do it for you but they charge $90 per hour. If you are really interested and not willing to do the wiring yourself, go around different places to get the BEST price. I was in a hurry to get it done before the holidays, so I just call couple of places and I went for the cheaper place. I believe most of the place can't tell you exactly until they take a look. And even they only spend 1 hour and 5 min to do it they probably will charge you for a 2 hour job. But they did a good job so I don't mind to spend the money.

As far as the water goes into the gap question. It actually not a stupid question, I had the same question to the tech guy and also couple members told me the same thing. The lights and the panels are all sealed, so water will not go inside. When water goes into the gap, it would just leak out behind the bumper and to the ground. I did couple test myself on that, so it should not cause any problem at all.

Hope it helps. Again, even it got that little gap, I love to have 2 reverse lights. : ) Also, I ordered the lights through ebay from a Japan shop and only took 10 days to get here from Japan. Pretty quick.

The tech guy said he got couple wires reverse since the Japanese lights are opposite than the Xb...something like that. But I guess he pretty much follow the XB wiring and match to the Japanese one in order to make it work. But again, I am not 100% sure, I paid him to help me so all I care was to make everything works, and he did.

just did a tail light mod..

all i did was transfer the xb plug to the rumion tails.. all you have to do is push the pins out and put them in the order the XB ones was.. the onlything is that the green and the green/white wire you have to switch places.

So in all i didnt cut any wires.. the only wire that had to be tapped was the postive Rev wire.. the ground was already connceted with the rest of the wires in the harness
