I love those blue light behind the climate controls, very awesome. I just might have to start with that.

Lucky you. I showed the image to my girlfriend and she was like... "you bought this car to save some money. why do you want to spend on it?" She knows me too well. Once I start with something, I can't stop... But I'm still in the process of convincing her on the guage and temperature control color.

If you just want to do the faces, I think it's around 17. I'd get a few extra cause they're itty bitty. Just in case, ya know.

Did you have to remove paint or anything when replacing the LED for the HVAC?

You have to remove that whole panel, which is pretty easy. You can go the easy way, and use a neo-wedge LED. OR, you can do what I did today, and that's use the three LED cluster from Garage1217, and pull it out and use the OEM base. It's not too difficult. You just have to be careful. You can use regular PLCC2's for the center button illumination. Originally, it's just a little LED (3mm, IIRC). I just cut off the original LED and soldered in a PLCC2 in it's place.

Do you know of a DIY with pics for removing the 2nd Gen AC for light replacement?

Sorry, I don't. But it's easy. Pull off the stereo surround and the little bottom part underneath it. There's a Phillips head screw to the bottom left of the stereo. Remove it. Pull off the shifter surround, unplug hazard, and the whole assembly should pop out. Make sure you have a little flat head screwdriver to push the tabs of the plugs that are in the back of the knobs. It's really not all too difficult. Most difficult time I had was getting my knobs to turn smoothly after I reassembled them. I'm not sure how I did it, I just kept playing with them and taking them apart until they were smooth...

I am getting ready to do this...got the neo wedge bulbs. Anyone used those that can give tips or step by step? My new guage face should be here shortly as well. Already did the LED's for speedo with some help from a friend.

The neo wedge bulbs will be really easy. Just remove the HVAC control panel, and use a thin flathead screwdriver and turn the OEM bulb. Then replace with the neo wedge's!
The LED bulbs I used were a bit of a PITA, but I'm happy with the result.
