Hey guys & gals,

My first poll!
Just wanted to run a poll asking who's purchased parts from Ebay and wanted to get some experiences. Any sellers/parts to beware of? Let's keep it xB here, I don't want to hear horror stories about buying fake Luis Vuitton wallets.

Thanks for the input guys!

I got 1 vote!

I've actually purchased a bunch of stuff from Ebay this past two weeks. I'm looking to put it all on this weekend. Got a grill, fog lights, K&N CAI, a small emblem and a shift knob. I'll let you guys know how it all turns out.   Smiley

As many ebay stores come and go regularly, any parts that MUST work or the vehicle doesn't . . . come from elsewhere.
I buy major mechanical stuff from highly reputable folks that are likely to remain.
That said, I have bought a ton of stuff from ebay over the years.  Most is great.

I purchased a grill, cabin filter, shift knob and emblems from Ebay and have no regrets.  If the dealer wouldn't want an arm and a leg I would buy from them.

i have bought part of my grill, some bulbs, pedals, speakers, speaker box, and stuff from ebay.

i just look at their feedback first before i buy. If it's not too good, i pass.

but basically, just make sure who it's coming from.

and make sure you read EXACTLY what you're getting.

I use PayPal when shopping on ebay.  If something doesn't get here or is damaged, I have that avenue for conflict resolution.  Recently had an order not arrive in the time the seller promised.  I just went to PayPal and sent a message to the seller.  Resulted in a refund.

Another place I have used for some small things is amazon.com.  I have had good success there, too.

I'll always take a look here before dealing eBay. In fact, it would be great if we had an eBay buyer beware section here.

I bought a lot of products from ebay, and I had some +/- about it. Read their feedback and description carefully before you buy!

No problem.

Please note that I removed the previous thread I posted, replaced it w/ another for negative and positive buyer experiences, though I worry that it may welcome seller spam. If I see the slightest hint of abuse, it's gone.

I bought my headlights and tail lights from ebay, no problems yet, but I do agree that stuff thats hard to replace should always come from a well known place.

We are very cautious about buying from ebay.  When we do it's little things, like the cluster LED's.  I just don't want a lot of garbage on my car.  I heard someone at a car show say something about one of the vehicles looking like an Auto Zone threw up on it.  Miscellaneous ebay parts can have the same effect.
