Alright, so first of all, I know I'm a vast minority here and will be almost indefinitely now, but would it be possible to get a Regional forum for Canada?  innocent

Because I have nowhere to post information from Canada, even though it's of little consequence to most of you, I think you might find it interesting!

Here's my tidbit for today. When importing a vehicle from the US into Canada, it needs to be on a list that is published by a company called the "Registrar for Imported Vehicles"... now when I brought my car back, the 2008 xB was admissible.

In the last week, they've completely updated their list to reflect Toyota Canada's wishes that the border should be more strict on importing Toyotas as they're losing money. All 2008 Scions were put on the inadmissible list.

Therefore, I have the only 2008 xB in Calgary, Alberta and it's looking like it will stay that way! Which will probably drive the price of my car up as it will be a rare find! Not that I'm looking to sell! Tongue

Wow, talk about great timing! Good for you  Cheesy

I had a friend move up north a few years ago (married a Canadien) and I recall her mentioning something about a list of "importable" cars, and her telling me her ride at that time was not on the list. And because it wasn't, she had to sell it.

Ummmmmm...Rhombus: you're the second one in Calgary. I got my Blackberry Crush Metallic XB in June. I saw a black one a couple weeks ago on Macleod Trail. Is that you? Where are you getting service? I'm having trouble getting dealers to come out and play.

Sweet ride though. Loving the gawk appeal.

I stand corrected! Smiley Well in any event, I love it and mine's not black no, so there are probably 3 of us lurking around here! haha... I'm Nautical Blue Metallic. What area of the city do you live in? and so far I haven't had it serviced, but I intend to get it done entirely at a Toyota dealership... any one that will take me...

I'm in Bridlewood. Just dropped some serious coin at Canyon Creek Toyota for first oil change, block heater and DRL repairs. They seem game to do the service work, but it's straight flat rate to the max. Wherever you take yours, make sure they know you know the motor and drive train are straight out of the RAV4 and Camry base model. I'd love to trust these guys, but they need to know you have your eyes open. I got a more positive response from Charlesglen Toyota to my order for a replacement body part; they seem to have a better line of communication with Scion USA, since they've been selling XB's and TC's for 2 years. Country Hills Toyota has been selling the Gen1 version extensively as well.
How'd you get yours? I found mine on Autotrader/Ontario page/Used Cars/Fournier Auto Sales & Leasing. As the first owner of record and leasing agent, he apparently can resell as "used" even though there was only a couple hundred miles on the odo.

You know I have to say that it may suck you guys have problems with the XB up there, but you are lucky. Canada got the best VW Corrado's. Same engine as the USA but 20 more HP. Many a VW fans have tried there luck at getting one across the boarder. I think the only one that was succesful, brought it across as a non-running junker(not really though) and swapped out the good parts into a Corrado he already owned.

Question for Canadian xB2 owners: where did you get your daytime running lights wired up? I had my Toyota dealer repair a defective fusible link on mine, and they're gone again. Advice? Thanks.
