I found the directions on www.sparkstoyota.com and decided that it was easier for me to have the dealer install it.  My wife got a sunroof but I decided not to spend the money since I have never used any sunroofs on any of my cars.  Not sure if I am going to use the storage but it is not to bad looking.

God bless

Installed the overhead console this morning and was surprised how easy it was...once I got over the emotional trauma of drawing on the headliner with a Sharpie then taking an X-acto knife to it.  Although I didn't time the installation, it probably took about an hour at a slow and careful pace.  I took lots of pictures and will follow up with a detailed report.

The added storage is a real PLUS.  It was a very simple install.

I feel the same as JOEY and JDKD. I find the overhead console very useful. It also adds to the interior.

Ordered my Scion with this and I have been very happy with the fit and finish (installed by the dealer.)  I'm just wondering - anyone want to take on the task of fitting a digital picture frame into the picture frame slot that they have there?  I'm not sure that I am mechanically inclined enough to do it, but it seems with power (for the lights) already there it shouldn't be too difficult.

Thoughts?

ohh thats a cool idea or a little tv monitor. All the pics are gone can someone post a pic of the storage bin down and the pic taken looking right at it so I can see the boxes better. The only ones on here are side views.

I'll have to take one.
Basically, it is wide enough for a CD case, plus the side material itself.

It is very easy to install (about 20 minutes).  Hardest part is getting up the nerve to cut the headliner.  Just make sure you have the template aligned correctly and you should have no problem.  Can always use the extra storage space.

(FIRST POST!)

I got the box for like 180 off ebay- Frank Toyota

Its the roomiest overhead i've ever seen......holding like 12 cds and sunglasses. It doesn't block your vision.

I only have 1 complaint- it is a convection oven. I guess because it is in the space between the headliner and the roof-it gets EXTREMELY hot in there during the summer months. I worry if my CDs are going to melt, and metal sunglasses are sometimes uncomfortably hot to put on.

But i'm glad i got it. Smiley

My xB is black and I am having the same concerns, but I was thinking that I could grab one of those burritos on long trips and just toss it in there.  Then, when I'm ready for a snack... dig in.

Ahhh...another plus for Classic Sliver Metallic.  As for warm burritos, I told my wife if she didn't eat in the car I wouldn't drive in the dining room.
