I've never experienced this before, but maybe it was just a matter of time... or maybe it's completely unreasonable for a seller to do this. I purchased an item on the 12th, paid right away, and never heard from the seller. So, I emailed them and got a reply today stating that they're waiting for the funds to be transferred to their bank before they ship the item. What?!? I paid via PayPal. You have my money. Send me the damn item. I know it takes 3-4 days to transfer money, but it's been 6. I could have had the item from another seller, brand new, w/ all parts, via a second chance offer for a few dollars less, but I had already paid for this other item. Am I overreacting, or is this complete BS?

I used to get frustrated that there were so many businesses operating on eBay now, rather than the individual sellers like you or me, but now I see the error of my thinking - at least w/ a business, I'd have the item, and some communication...

I have been burned only once by a shady Ebay seller with excuse after excuse about when it shipped, no, it didn't, yes, no, yes!   Forget it!   I always wait until the seller sents me a statement with what I should pay before I pay.  I just sold some manuals on Ebay and after I received my PayPal confirmation I always email the buyer thanking them and telling them that I will let them know when the item ships.

I refuse to leave feedback first (as  a buyer) until the seller gives feedback.  Too many people play that game so they don't get a negative and they wait until someone else goes first.   I feel that type of feedback system is useless to other people on Ebay.

Good Luck.

Yeah, Ebay is getting shady, ranting :ranting:I bought an amp from Indoaudio, auction said "buy it now" 2 available, I bought, sent paypal right away, Indoaudio sent me a tracking #, I waited, and waited, no change in tracking status, after 2 weeks,  contacted seller and they tell me that the item is on backorder, I tell them I want my money back, then they turn around and tell Ebay I did not pay for item!! I dispute get a resolve, then company tells me if I don't retract neutral feedback they will leave neg. feedback on  me, it is almost like blackmail!!! Bottom line, screw Ebay!! I rather go to the store pay a few dollars more, have the item in hand after handing over my hard earned cash and not have to deal with people that want to screw you over. I feel sorry for the honest sellers!!!

Well, another experience... I paid for an item at the beginning of the month and I still haven't received it. I emailed the seller who told me it's in the mail. I then checked them out again on eBay and they're no longer registered. Great. At least it was less than $10. I'm usually good about reading feedback before I bid or BIN, but this time I took the positive % at face value. Oh well, live & learn... Sad
