Here's a few pictures of my pooch, Mischief. He's a Cairn Terrier, the same kind of dog as Toto from the Wizard of Oz, just a different color. He's a purebred. We got him when he was 8, in March of 2006. His previous owner was an administrator at a nursing facility, which took care of him until it was sold. His breed's ideal weight is about 18 pounds. When we got him he weighed in at a whopping 35 pounds! His belly was literally an inch off the floor. Since then we've had him on a diet, took him for walks, and as of his last vet visit he's down to a svelt 24.

January 28, 2010.. I decided today to remove the morbid talk about my dog, and give an update.
Let's make this a my dog thread Smiley

Update: He's OK for now, but still has a growth in his abdomen. Hasn't effected him so far, other than being sick for a few weeks back in October.

These picture are all from my album at Webshots Here

Sad that's so sad. Why do dogs have to get so old so fast? I don't know what I will do when my puppies get old.

Thanks. He's doing OK so far. Mostly he just sleeps now. Every so often he gets the shivers. It's hard. I never had a dog that got sick like this. I can remember when I was very young we had a dog that got hit by a car, but I wasn't home at the time so all I knew was that he left and didn't come back.

bob....I just now saw this and wanted to give you a big hug!  I too have a Cairn, same color as yours!!  He's in dire need of a haircut, but looks just like your guy.  I'll post a pic.  My guy's name is Rocky and except for piddling on the floor when he's excited or gets yelled at, he has been a great addition to our family.   Here's a pic:

as a pup...

Holy cow! A week! That is just awful. So sorry Sad

I should have got back to this a few months ago. He recovered. The lump in his abdomen is still there, so he's not really cured, just the symptoms have subsided for now. The vet had us all worried for pretty much nothing.

Yesterday its a cell phone pic  Sad  Still have the puppy hair hes a rough coat sooo hes going to be a fury mofo. He will be a handsome boy when he gets his adult coat. I wanted a big non agressive dog and I wanted a collie as a kid but could not have one. Its good to be going thru the 2 nd childhood and be able to have what I want. LOL
