OK so I got an issue. I want to order a new intake for my xB. I know which one I want. The problem is the cost. Basically it costs $329 after shipping from two places that I found. I did find a place selling it for $279 w/ free shipping. However when I go to do the online check out one of the things they require is the phone number of the bank thats on the bank of the card. I have never needed that kind of info for purchases before. It makes me kinda worried about if this is a safe place to purchase from. I would really love to save $60 but not sure its worth the risk. What do you guys think?
Oh here is the link for the company   www.hopupracing.com

I don't think you can ever be too paranoid about ordering on line.  My wife does 90% of her shopping on line now but for every purchase she logs on to Mastercard and gets a one time card number for just that purchase.

I've heard of the company, but not about needing the phone # of the bank... maybe call them and ask why they need it?

It may be that because they're a smaller dealer, they may have to manually do credit card transactions via telephone.  The phone number on the back of the card is information that is publicly accessible; it's probably just more convenient for them to ask for it than to look it up every time.  They very well may run the number by the bank to ensure that i hasn't been flagged for unusual activity or reported as stolen.  There's quite a few possibilities, but I would say that the bank phone number request itself shouldn't raise any flags for you, but if there's anything else that doesn't seem normal, then look elsewhere.  See if they'll do a paypal transaction instead, so that you don't have to give out any information directly to them.

When you go to their site the have a banner that shows what types of cards they accept and it also has paypal shown but there is no option. I would rather go paypal because then if there is a issue, especially with this sum of money, you are usually covered. I may just call them in person and order directly.
