This Saturday, June 21, will be spent watching approximately 100 kids roll down the middle of a local street. It's the 52nd annual running of the Bucks County Soapbox Derby. This year marks my son's 4th year racing, and his first year in a bigger car. We had the car repainted a few weeks ago, and buyadecal.com came through with a real nice set of decals for us. We'll be leaving the house around 5:45am, and depending on how well he does, could end up staying until dark. Racing begins at about 8:00am. In previous years he placed 5th, and 6th twice.
Here's the car on weight and alignment night. We had gotten it painted about a week before, and as of the day, the decals had not yet arrived.

Waiting in line to get weighed. For his divison, each car plus driver needs to weigh 230 pounds. We had to add about 40-45 pounds to his car to make weight.

You didn't think I'd leave out the xB now, did ya? The derby car is 6 feet long, the sapce in back of the front seats is about 5 feet long. No, I could not get the rear hatch to close all the way and stil be able to drive the car.

Some last minute adjustments:

And ready to race! The decals also came in
