well, you can expect it all you want, but it does seem unlikely...   Tongue

i am sure the kit has a lot to do with the increase in cost.  by the time our five axis kit was painted and installed, we were into it for about 2000 our cost.  a factory moonroof option is only about 800 retail.
3  General Scion xB / 2nd Gen Scion xB Talk / Re: 2008 xB RS 5.0 on: January 12, 2008, 12:29:18 PM
Interesting... still has wheel covers and I'm not diggin' the seats at all.

i am glad it doesn't have wheels.  it would just increase the cost, and if you bought one, you would have the same wheels as everyone else who bought one.
i am with you on the seats, for sure.

you are most welcome.  happy to be of any assistance possible.  canada is a long way from sacramento, but digital help is better than no help at all, right?

i dont have pics yet.  i will be trying to get those this week.  but not even my regional rep has seen them yet.  someone has to have a spy shot, but they are keeping it to themselves so far.

the only information i have is that there will be a 2008 RS 4.0 (galactic gray mica), and a 2009 RS 5.0 (no color announcement yet).  i wont rule out the possibility, but until solid data comes in from san ramon, i call the anniversary edition a seriously unlikely rumor.  according to my regional rep, there is nothing about that on the radar.

no, i didnt miss a zero.  the $2400 is the RS package price.  take msrp, add $2400, and you have the price of an rs 5.0 xB.

i have a call in to san ramon for an answer on that.  being that it is the eve of the new year, i dont know if i will hear back before wednesday.  those corporate guys and girls follow a schedule all their own.

*edit*

okay, color code is 0580.  my source reports it is expected to be exceptionally close to the House of Kolor gold that five axis used on the press release vehicle, it is not believed to be a yellow.  having not seen it yet, he cannot back that 100% just yet, but it is a rare occasion that Lord Vader is incorrect.
10  General Scion xB / 2nd Gen Scion xB Talk / Re: Ok, what is your MPG with the 2008 xB? on: December 29, 2007, 01:05:27 PM

have you checked actual mileage by calculating from fuel purchased and miles driven?

the mileage calculator is an estimate and i have found it to be ~2 miles less than the displayed mpg on both my xB and my Solara - that still reflects good mileage for in town driving  Smiley

and while i havent been the one to put gas in the car yet to do the calculation...

11  General Scion xB / 2nd Gen Scion xB Talk / Re: Ok, what is your MPG with the 2008 xB? on: December 29, 2007, 12:32:26 PM
those of us living in california start at a disadvantage to everyone else.  our fuel is crap.  in three cross county trips (two in a tC and one in twin turbo supra), fuel mileage increased significantly after we had departed california burned through a couple more tanks to clean it all out.  60ish miles per tank better.  watching a tC pull 440 miles on a tank was fantastic.  around here, we would have been lucky to see 375.
my wife is the primary driver of our xB.  she is about a 95% city driver.  we are mere blocks from her work, daycare, etc, and she hasnt logged but maybe 3200 miles since she got it in june.  she is an easy driver, and while i havent been the one to put gas in the car yet to do the calculation, the mpg counter shows her at 25.6 last time i looked.  she is within the sticker range, pretty much in the middle of it, and pulls that off with virtually zero highway mileage.

the replacement for the tC should be an 80% rendition of the Fuse concept, as far as design.  no word on a badge for it yet.

there is no official word on a proposed xR, but at this point i can 100% shoot it down as a 2009.  this is the break-down on upcoming scion models.

2008 Release Series Colors :
xB : Five Axis Gold, just like we wanted.
xD : hot freakin lava FTW
tC : some grey other than Flint Mica.

MY Information :
2009 Models - no changes to anything.  no line-up additions.
2010 Models - replacement for the tC launches
