Sam's here is $1.84 a gallon. Just remember, if we drive more because of lower gasoline prices, the other shoe will drop and they will have to raise prices because of the refining capacity shortage. They have us until we kick this oil habit we are on.
I am from Mentor, Ohio. about 30 miles east of Cleveland Oh.

Technical & Styling / Scion xB Performance / Re: Engine shaking or vibrating

That is what was making my noise, the hood and hood latch vibrate against one another causing a rattling/clicking noise when the car stopped waiting for a traffic light. When the air conditioner is on it put more of a load on the engine causing the hood to vibrate more.
This has been mentioned on other forums and the fix is to put more pressure on the hood by raising the rubber stoppers. I fixed mine in 2 minutes and haven't been bothered by the noise since.

Explain why the need to fuzz out the plate? This vehicle is on a public highway, seen by hundreds of people everyday, why the need? Even taking a picture of people in public is fair game.
Nice looking xB's, really like the carbon look!

Technical & Styling / Wheels & Tires / Tire Pressure Monitors
|
on: October 26, 2008, 02:44:57 PM

The tire pressure monitors (tpm) are programmed into the cars computer. What happens if you have two sets of tires and both sets of tires have TPM installed, would you have to have the computer reprogrammed to recognize the TPM each time you change winter to summer wheels? What would be the point of having sensors that are different from one xB to another. I would think that one xB wheel should be able to be installed on another xB and the computer will still be able to read the signal.
How many different TPM's could there be for the xB? Scion would want to keep costs down and just stock one part number and not many.
Am I reading this system wrong?
Thanks

The sensor is in front of the A/C condenser which is in front of the radiator. It is mounted low, at the bottom so heat generated from the radiator or a/c will rise away from the sensor. It is easily seen when viewing the front of the car, bottom drivers side.

Without seeing the dent, I can tell you that a plastic bumper that has had the corner pushed in can sometimes be popped out using a hair dryer. As far as the taillight go, they are on Ebay for $25-$30.00 plus shipping for new takeoffs.
A large Scion decal is perfect for covering up scratch after the DIY attempt.
