We are having our January thaw in NE Ohio, today was 67 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, that is a big deal for us and I took advantage of the warm weather to wash, wax and clean the inside of the xB. This if the first time I tried a micro-fiber towel to dry off and apply/remove the wax, they do make a big difference.
It will rain tomorrow so I will just have a short time to admire the shine!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply. I haven't hear the noise in a while since we have been having mostly snow and not a lot of rain. I have been using the heater since it has been cold her for the last two months. I will have to keep my ear open for the sloshing noise when it starts raining in the spring.
Again, thanks for the reply.

I have been using SpeedBead by Stoner's for 8+ years on my vehicles. They sell Invisible Glass for the windows and MoreShine for the tires which I also recommend. I use SpeedBead on the paint, bumpers and the flat black around the windows/windshield without any problems. Stoner's products are sold in auto stores, Wal-Mart, ect. You can go on line to www.moreshine.com and place your order. I called them to place my order last month and the product arrived the next day!

You could use tissue paper taped to the area and trace the outline with a pencil. I used tracing paper on the front of my hood to make a template for the clear plastic protector from ebay (8 mil thick, 2 ft x 10 ft roll) and it looks perfect.
I think that the carbon fiber look (plastic) sticky sheet would be great!

Maybe if you put a Hemi in your Scion Leno might think about giving you a tour. I haven't notice too many rice burners driven by him.

Yanges. Thanks for the reply. I haven't used the A/C in two month and the defroster isn't needed yet. I will listen for the noise after I wash the car or it sits outside in the rain. I believe this was mentioned on another board, but I can't remember where.
Right now the road salt is so thick that my black Xb looks gray/dirty white.

I like the proto type better then the one that will be built and sold. It does seem kind of silly to spend time and money on a design, show it and then water it down. If the proto type is too expensive or just not buildable, why bother!
I'm getting tired of rounded cars, so I guess that's why I bought a Xb box.

I would settle for owning the New Dodge Challenger with a small 6 cyl. engine!!! I don't know where you can put the hammer down with todays traffic. My Chrysler Sebring Convertible has a 2.5 six and delivers 26 mpg city and 33 mpg on the highway with enough power to smoke the tires. The dealers will kill the excitement for this vehicle when they start to add the "fair market" pricing like they did to the Prowler and PT Cruiser. I remember news stories of people paying $35,000 for a PT Cruiser when they first came out just to get their hands on one.
Give me great styling and I will be most pleased, forget the gas guzzlers under the hood.

General Scion xB / 2nd Gen Scion xB Talk / Water sloshing noise
|

Once in a while when I back out of the garage , then drive forward I hear a noise like water sloshing around for only a second or two. I can't tell if the noise is under the hood, behind the dash or under the floor. The fluids are all ok under the hood and I have plenty of heat. If I had some air in the radiator system it should have worked its way out by now.
I just noticed that when I park the Xb in my garage, the garage floor by the right rear tire has alot more water draining on the floor than the other 3 tires. I am wondering if somehow water is getting in the rocker panels from rain or splashing up from the tires.
I have a Chrysler Sebring convertible which has drain holes in the side rocker panels to allow the rain water to drain that collects around the cloth top. If those drain holes get clogged water won't be able to drain out and will slosh around until the drain holes get cleaned out.
Am I the only lucky one with this noise?

I bought my Xb with an automatic transmission. I find that the automatic transmission shifts smoothly and makes the ride more refined. I do mostly city driving and with all of the stop-n-go traffic, shifting would get old very quick. For those of you that love to shift go for it, I just prefer to let the Xb do all of the work!

CamSr. Take the survey with you and tell them you will fill this out after your conversation with them. Make sure you ask the service writer/ manager/dealership owner how to correctly spell their names!!!!
What they did so far is unacceptable!!!
Good luck!

CamSr. It is great that you wrote Scion about this problem, but I would have talked to the Service Manager or dealership owner first. The play might be within specs. but the light coming on isn't normal for a vehicle if something isn't right.
I believe that Scion will cover this problem, then find another dealership and tell the owner why you will never be back for service or to purchase another vehicle. A wise dealer would have taken care of this problem to have customer satisfaction.
I received a survey from Scion asking me how I would rate the service department where I purchased my Scion. Since I haven't even had my Scion long enough to have it serviced, even for an oil change, I haven't sent it in yet. Scion keeps calling me to find out why I haven't completed the survey yet. I keep telling them the same thing over and over, when I use the service department, I will have an answer to put down on the survey.
I hope this works our for you. Good luck!!!
