Technical & Styling / Cleaning / Care / Maint. / Air filter/Cabin air filter

I have owned my xB for almost 1 year/11k miles, I checked the air filter and it looked brand new, however, the cabin filter looks dirty. Now, does anybody know what color the cabin filter looks like when new? Does it have some sort of carbon in the filtering pad that would make it look dirty?
The engine sucks much more air than the blower motor does, so why would the cabin filter look dingy?
Maybe we need someone with a new/er xB to open their glovebox and look at a new cabin filter. Sorry no pics, camera was borrowed by my kids.

I doubt that the spoiler is going to give any relief from the dirt/dust collecting on the back of the xB since it looks like a small sunshade for the rear. Years ago, station wagons had a similar visor except it was angled down toward the window to direct the airflow over the rear window. Don't know if that worked either since I have never known anyone that had one.
If the spoiler works, I would put one on in a heart beat.

If the wheels were not packaged properly then Flyviper should get a full refund since he had nothing to do with packing the wheels. What about the trouble Flyviper has gone through and the money he is out! I wouldn't hold your breath about receiving a refund or even a email from the seller.
Please post some picture for us to see or I am sure someone will come to SS defense claiming DHL should have been more careful, defective cardboard, high price of gasoline or some kind of excuse.
Post pics and give credit where credit is due!

I have my doubts about all of this stuff, kind of like snake oil advertisement. If it will make you sleep better at night then go for it.
One more thing, the service department will try to sell you a lot of services items for your car. They love transmission flushes, oil flushes and stuff that isn't recommended by Toyota. Just follow the recommended services in your owners manual and you should be fine.
When I purchased my Scion the games began like this....You should buy the extended warranty, how about the paint protection and don't forget our special, buy one years worth of oil changes for $$$$$$. The best part is the years worth of oil changes started on the day I purchased the car, remember, Scion gives you the first 2 oil changes free, so why was the dealer doing trying to charge me for oil changes that I didn't need? Answer. more money for them!

My dealer tried to sell me their special paint protection system for $500.00, I said NO! I now noticed that the dealer puts this special wax job on all of the new cars in their lot, I think that it is a way to increase revenue.
If it does such a good job at protecting the paint, dark color cars shouldn't have swirl marks, and then it would be worth it at twice the price.

Gee, my salesman was a full time college kid/ part time salesman who knew more about Honda's/Mits than the Scion. I believe that the standard xB system is nothing more than a keyless entry.

GEEZER, you sound like me! I followed Martin since 1988 and finally gave up on him and moved to Edwards. We were at N. Wilksboro race and Martin wouldn't sign my sons hat because it wasn't one of his sponsors. Now, Dale Earnhardt was the nicest person, he had an open house at his Chevrolet dealership each year following the N. Wilksboro race and he would sign anything and everything people brought in.
I had a black Chevy Lumina at the time and had him sign the sunshade, he even gave my wife the marker he used to sign it. Wish NASCAR had more like him!

You might just want to go with some sort of cool looking sticker to cover up the scratch. I just had an estimate done for a small (dime size) indentation on the rear bumper, the Black Sand Pearl needs a Special material in the paint, 8 bucks, paint/clearcoat $70.00 and don't forget the Hazardous Waste Disposal fee of $3.00. That is without the labor charge of $364.01. I know that the gas door is smaller, but I bet the price will be close to buying a carbon fiber door.

This looks like a win, win, situation! If DHL doesn't find the wheels, then they should have to pay the sender the value of the stated package and the buyer is going to get his money back either way!!!!
I just love happy endings!
Moral.....After getting burned once on a personal check, don't accept another!

Yes, the claim would have to be with the shipper and then the buyer would have some avenue to pursue.
Flyviper, did the seller ever provide you with a tracking number?
I understand that things happen, what is the rest of the story!

Since I have Jury Duty soon, I need the practice!
Flyviper paid for the wheels, Scionscene responsibility was to ship the wheels himself. Since Scionscene had someone else do this for him, Scionscene is at fault unless he can produce a tracking number that he said his friend has in his truck.
FULL refund for Flyviper!
If there is a tracking number for these wheels then it should be produced and acted upon immediately.
