1  Technical & Styling / Do It Yourself / Re: 2nd Gen; Taking the back end apart; removing the rear seats. on: July 24, 2008, 06:00:09 PM
scionwest : I plan to install a factor sub at the c pillar. please tell me what to do to take out the c pillar panel.
many thank for your reply.

It's not that difficult really, maybe I was missing something but I had to remove the lower panel in order to get the C-Piller out of the car, and to remove the lower panel I had to remove the rear seat. The plastics all just 'pop' out really, just give them a good tug. The top part of the rear seat is bolted to a swivel brack, but the lower seats just 'pop' out, give them a good tug upward and they'll come out.

Damn, that's a lot of fur! I was wondering... does it shed?
It takes about an hour of driving around with the windows down to get all the fur that will shed out of the car. It's good to go now, no shedding. Just need to vacuum out the car to get rid of the pieces that fell out.

Wow a 118, now thats a goal I have to top hehe. Will probably achieve it when I race my friends Si. I know I have done well over that in the Jetta, and it wanted to keep going.
Yea the xB still had more to give too, I was just scared I was going to get arrested yucky

Click here for pics of my finished C-Pillar cubby lighting project Smiley
That looks great! I love how you did that. I was thinking of doing somthing similar, but I was going to cut out a custom design in some furred pressboard and stick it in there with some cathodes. The acrylic and vinyl is a much better route to go.

I too have gotten my car up to 85-87 mph, I was constantly lookin' in the rear mirror(for coppers). eek
Yea, I was watching for the cops when I hit an empty stretch of highway at 118mph shocked. Only time I've ever done it. I try and stay at 65-75

Actually I was talking about the upper C-pillar cubbies. The ones where you can buy storage nets for. If found the answer in your photo though. Its that little black box thats labeled 11R. Anyone know eaxtly what that thing does?
Woops, miss-understood what area you where refering to. Sorry  lol

Great pics! Are the headlight overlays from bluebat? were they hard to put on w/ how bulbous our headlights are? I've used his overlays on the mirror signals and reverse light, but stopped there...
I got the headlight overlays from Rockblocker.com. He lives in the same state I do, so I just went to his house and he installed them. It looked fairly easy. Just had to do some tuggin to make sure it covered everything right.

Thanks for the comments!

I purchased it back in may 2007, within the first week of them being released.

It's currently running on 20x8.5'' velocity Wheels with Nitto 235/35/ZR tires.

Rockblocker.com clear bra'd the front bumper, hood, side fenders and side mirrors. Also has some headlight overlays.

I can't lower the front due to the wheels being to wide, but Randode.com lowered the rear of the car using my stockie springs from my 06 xB.

I then installed some floor board cathodes and a Short Ram Intake. Ignore the dirty engine bay  Tongue There are also some LED's in my AC vents, but I don't have any pictures of those.

then I removed the resonator and swapped out the muffler for a dual tipped muffler. It needs a glasspack, but it sounds pretty decent.

You can watch a video of it here on YouTube
http://youtube.com/watch?v=I9Ot-rfv120

I also removed the keyhole on the driver side. No more holes, it's all nice and smooth on all four door handles!

Next is my current mod. I'm currently in the process of furring the whole car with Teal Shag fur shocked
I have the A-Pillers, One B-Piller, shifter collar, rear hatch and floor mat finished. Just took the rest of the car apart this past weekend to start working on finishing up the fur.

And more to come Including the headliner and door panels Cheesy

The last thing to show is  my Rockford Fosgate subwoofer, amp, component speakers and Panasonic 7''  in-dash.

I put cathodes in the front foot wells, under the rear seats and in the C-Pillar cubbies. I just got the last thing I need to finish that off & will probably go out and do that on a break. Hopefully I'll be able to take pictures tonight. I had plans for LEDs as well, but it would require taking apart a lot more & I think I'll work out a Plan B Wink
Yea, actually I was surprised at how simple this was. it actually only took me about an hours worth of work to get it apart. Putting it back together will be a different story though. Tongue
I just recently did my foot wells too.

I haven't done the cubbies yet, I'm thinking about covering the hole and just furring the whole thing flat. Help give the back end more of a custom look. Maybe cut out a design in each covering and stick a cathode back there to illuminate it. Not sure yet.
