Brewski, do still have the Fujita CAI with the AEM By pass or a AEM CAI with a AEM by pass system? Were you able to keep the Fujita or was it part of the $7K damage? [/quote]

I'm late in getting back to this question. The answer is: I have the Fujita CAI with the AEM Bypass. As for the damage the $7K was for a new "short block"...Fujita CAI was retained...and then modified for installation of the AEM Bypass.
On another note, I found my receipt for the TRD CAI vent...(P/N PTR03-52084; Description: TRD COLD A; Cost: $7.64)

thanks for the part number. went to my dealer yesterday to get a new rear wiper blade (DON'T not worth the 20 bucks, the blade comes out of the holder and is $5 to replace). the parts guy said they don't sell the vent by itself.

How long did the install take and are there any issues with the install that I should look out for?

I had a local mechanic install my TRD CAI last year (he charged $80) and haven't regretted it for a moment. I was a little concerned at first about the added noise when I gun it - I'd prefer it to sound less big since it is such a small car - but after a little over 28,000 miles I'm realizing an improvement of about 1.5 MPG in moderate to aggressive driving and it feels a little faster to me (or at least sounds faster).
As for the water issues, I live in California and the only time I see a foot or more of water is at the ocean or in the hot-tub, so I'm not all that worried.
My only grump right now is that I visit this board and have to see that there are now driving lights that fit in where the air intake goes, and they look very, very nice. I guess I'll have to go back to lusting for the OEM fog-lights.

I got mine installed. but I have a question about the rpms: The engine sounds like it's about to die when it's idling, is that common? the rpms will drop between [Edit:] 500 and 600.

I got mine installed. but I have a question about the rpms: The engine sounds like it's about to die when it's idling, is that common? the rpms will drop between 5 and 6.
Could it be that the battery was not disconnected during the install...not a likely thing...but if this was the case the computer may not have re-calibrated for the CAI. I have the Fujita CAI and have no problems. Other than that, check to see that everything is hooked up and secured per the installation instructions. Brewski
