i don't own a scion xb (yet), so i'm going around just trying to get a little info from everyone on why they like their xb.  also, i like to go camping and fishing and the occasional drive to the mountains/desert/beach.  i've been thinking about getting an element because it seems so versatile.  has anyone done any light offroading or taken the xb on long trips? because to me it seems more like a street/city vehicle. am i wrong?

Welcome to the site Smiley

IMO, the 2nd Gen xB is much more versatile than the 1st Gen and much less of a strictly street/city vehicle... It's larger and has more power. But what may convince you will be the picture from this thread

As for long trips... I haven't yet (Camry is better suited for us in that regard), but plenty of people have Smiley

The fact that the element is completely hose'able inside... which is weird and cool at the same time probably makes it more versatile... but I LOVE the xB... it has a lot of room and plenty of power for those "off the beaten path" trips...

i have been on a 450 mile trip recently up to central coast and it was a really nice ride!

i was surprised that it rode so well as i had been driving a Solara prior to my xB and was expecting a harsher ride.  it is very stable at 75 mph and the ride is firmer than some cars but not uncomfortable...

you can feel the wind a little more, due to the shape i am sure  Wink
